WHO WE ARE

Penelope Daborn Ltd., an interior design and decorating firm, was established in the Old Port of Portland, ME in 1996, with a second studio evolving in Lenox, MA in 2007. The business remains small, with Penny preferring to work personally with most of the clients.

Penelope Daborn, ASID Allied, Principal

Penny was born and raised in Kenya and India, lands of sumptuous visual contrasts; hence her appreciation of color and shape is as instinctive as it is learned. Her education in the U.K. and work in London, Vancouver and New York developed a discerning eye for spatial relationships. An ability to listen was honed by years spent in the world of non-profit organizations. She opened Penelope Daborn Ltd. shortly after moving to Maine in 1995.

Denise Dillow, Office & Project Manager

Denise returned to Maine and joined PDL after many years in various other states as a senior manager for a telecommunications firm. She has also had experience in a professional workroom. We're lucky to have her organizational skills and her understanding of how soft furnishings are constructed!

Catherine Honeycomb, Interior Designer, ASID Allied, IIDA Associate

Catherine's first career was spent on 7th Avenue in New York City, managing sales for the likes of Ralph
Lauren and Elie Tahari, and it was here that she developed a strong appreciation for the elements of
design development. Raising a family with a number of relocations fostered a passion for creating
interior environments from Connecticut to California. Recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in
Interior Design, Catherine is able to utilize the latest design technology to facilitate the progression from
concept to completion.
